The gala will start at 6 p.m. in Dover’s high school cafeteria.
The event is the primary fundraiser for the nonprofit, which will allow the public to learn more about the foundation and its impact on the community.
Event organizers said they are excited to have O’Neill as the guest speaker this year and look forward to the dynamics his personality and experience will bring to the event.
“We’re so excited to have the honor of hosting Craig O’Neill at our banquet in Dover, Arkansas,” co-organizer Sue Virden said. “Our foundation has been blessed with an outpouring of support each year, and we just look forward to growing to ensure that we can continue to support education in our community.”
O’Neill is currently a news anchor for THV11. His resume includes host of ESPN2 Outdoors and stadium announcer for Arkansas Razorback football games. He is the only disc jockey to ever host a dance at the White House.
The focus of the foundation is to assist the Dover Public School District with non-funded budget considerations and other related activities and projects.
Since 2012, the DPEF granted more than $30,000 to teachers, which supported a variety of programs including biology, band, athletics, reading recovery, library and media, elementary classrooms and technology.
Call Virden at (479) 331-1714 or Fe Barton at (479) 331-3690 to reserve seating for the event. Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.
